Some paddocks that burnt had no grass, the sheep manure carried the fire through.
A community meeting is being held in Horsham in western Victoria this morning to discuss the fire that hit the city yesterday.
The fire burned about 3,000 hectares yesterday afternoon and threatened several communities.
Seven homes were destroyed and the blaze also claimed the city's golf club, a fire truck, and a business workshop.
A cool wind change eased the fire's threat about 8:00am last night and crews worked overnight on controlling the perimeter of the blaze.
